Serious Back Pain and Doctors Driving me Crazy until Doc K.
Dr. Keshavarzi is my new best friend due to his amazing techniques for relieving my back pain. He provided me with the comfort I had been seeking for 1 & 1/2 years. I was operated on Oct. 1, 2015 by Dr, K. and my healing process is a God send. I’ve had 6 surgeries before and this the is first one I’ve been able to get up and walk from without extreme pain. The surgery he preform even has my wife and friends amazed at the things I can do so soon after surgery. I am walking as if nothing was ever wrong. My pain level is has drop substantially and my ability to walk up my stairs is so surprising to me I have to laugh to keep from crying. My happiness and pain relief was all Dr. K. was worry about. And I just want to THANK HIM AND HIS STAFF for all the time and patience taken to provide me with the relief I so urgently needed. I now walk without the worry of falling, going up and down stairs doesn’t frighten me any more. I walk with confidence and grace. Dr. K. YOU ARE MY HERO without a cape, your super powers are out of this world. My Queen, Kids, Grand kids, family and friends thank you from the depths of our souls. And I would recommend you to the highest of high. I brag and boast about you to everyone I know and come in contact with. In my book and it’s a gooddddd book you are the best at what you do. NO DOUBT!!!!! I am going to missed you when you leave but I understand the heart GOD has given you to share your gift with those less fortunate. You are a good and honest man and I don’t trust easily as you saw, but you and your staff change all of that. I FEEL LIKE A BRAND NEW ME, and that’s all because of you. Thank you again for squeezing me into your very busy schedule. I ask GOD for an angel and he sent me one with a medical degree and not just any but a degree of the heart mind soul and back. I could probably go on forever about Doc K. but it’s time for my daily walk. Again THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, mind and Back( ha ha). Maybe sometime in the near future my wife and I may make it out to Cali and just look you up. Stay strong, stay Honorable, stay Dedicated, and stay the Doctor you have worked so hard and long to become. Thank you!!

Administrative Manager, EM Department, University of FL – Jax.
I was reluctant to have back surgery, however, after listening to Dr. Keshavarzi’s detailed explainations of what was involved in the operation and the possible outcome, I was convinced to go ahead and not put it off any longer. Dr. Keshavarzi did an excellent job and the outcome was very positive as I no longer have the pain in my hip, leg and foot. He is very professional and is highly skilled. He was very honest, upfront, knowledgeable and clear on what he advised and suggested. I was so fortunate to have him as my surgeon and would gladly recommend him to my friends and family. He’s one of the finest and most highly skilled physicians I know or have met.

Thank you Dr. Keshavarzi and PA Aaron Tyler
I found Dr. Sassan Keshavarzi after 13 years of searching for the right neurosurgeon for my severe scoliosis. Dr. K and his PA Aaron Tyler came up with the right fusion for me to stabilize my curve and even straightened out my curves significantly. I am now able to live pain-free, enjoy running after my 2 little rascals, and do what I love-hair! A sincere thank you to UF Health’s Neurosurgery crew for all the hard work you put in to make my surgery possible and sorry for being a pain in the back! 😀

Bloodless Surgery
I would recommend this doctor to any of my freinds and family. I was Dr. Keshavarzi first bloodless surgery patient. It was a hard decision for him to do but he finally came around. He and his staff was courteous and professional. They were very accommodating in addressing my health concerns with respect to my faith. I had a major back injury that crushed my vertibrae T6-T9. This inury required 8 hrs of surgery, that concluded with inserting 2 titanum rods and 16 screws to repair my vertibrae. It’s important to note Dr Keshavarzi was able to complete this surgery without the use of blood or blood transfusions. Me being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses I support the bible view at Acts 15:29 “keep abstaining from…blood.” Dr. Keshavarzi, like many other doctors, without the use of blood, may have felt limited or constrained in his resourses. Dr. Keshavarzi still took on this challenge and completed with great success. After my surgery, I began my recovery with paralysis of my left leg, broken left wrist with cast past my elbow and therasic back brace, I call a turtle shell. With alot of prayer, physical therapy and support of my loving family, I’m now walking with the aid of nothing (no wheelchair, no walker or cane). I’m writing this to let others know how grateful I am to Dr. Keshavarzi and his staff and what a magnificent job he did. Sometimes a thank is just not enough. I thank Jehovah God for using Dr. Keshavarzi and I for a powerful witness.

Dr.Kashavarzi Gave Me My Life Back!
I was diagnosed with S.Kyphosis when I was fourteen years old. My mother looked for a surgeon with extensive experience in correcting my condition. My spine was at a 98 degree curve by the time we found Dr.Keshavarzi. My spine was restricting me from enjoying everyday life, and had started to effect my breathing. I put off the surgery for several years, but then I realized that having breathing problems at age 17 is a serious problem, and I needed to have it corrected. After seeing five other surgeons we found Dr.Keshavarzi at UF Shands in Bakersfield Florida. After leaving the first consultation I knew that he was the right doctor to fix my spine. He has this charisma to him that shows off how confidant he is as a surgeon, but not in a cocky way. After asking, he explained in depth exactly how the operation worked. He didn’t have to do this, but spent an extra 40minutes explaining the surgery and answering my questions. The surgery went great, with no complications. Dr.Keshavarzi and his team were amazing the morning of surgery. I didn’t require any blood transfusions. My estimated surgery time was 12hours but I only ended up being in surgery for 7hours. Aaron is Dr. Keshavarzi’s main associate. Aaron was with me before surgery and after surgery in the PICU. He was a tremendous help to me and my mother. Dr.Keshavarzi fused my lumbar and thoracic curves together, reducing my 98 degree curve to a 45 degree curve. I am two months post op and I am starting to feel wonderful! My body is healing, and I am off all of my major pain medication. Don’t get me wrong I still have pain from time to time, and I am still sleeping in a recliner chair. Its just part of healing from the surgery, something that everyone goes through. If you are about to go through a surgery similar to mine I have two words of advice for you. 1.Pick Dr.Kashavarzi 2. become as physically fit as possible. Dr.Kashavarsi didn’t order me too, but by my own will I was speed walking for an hour a day, everyday, three months before surgery, and ended up losing 35lbs before my surgery. The strength in my legs helped me stand and walk after surgery. Also key in the factor that I am a teenager and heal faster than a full grown adult. You don’t have to do this, but I as a person who went through a major spine surgery I recommend this. In the end it was Dr.Kashavazi’s amazing talent, and the consistency of his surgical team that healed me. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I no longer look hunched over, and I no longer get weird looks in public. He’s such an cool, and amazing person. He must have had a great mother that instilled the compassion he has for his patients. He is truly an artist. I’ve never heard of a doctor who consoled the mother of his patients. There were times when my mother became very worried and scared during my recovery, but Dr.Kashavarzi was there to reinsure that I would be just fine. It meant so much to my mom that he toke the time to reassure her. Thank You Dr.Kashavarzi for giving me my life back!

Dr. K. performed neck surgery on my husband in 8-2013. Intelligent, to the point and his work has been seen by other surgeons in Atlanta and we were told it is text book perfection!

Good Work Team!!
Dr. Keshavarzi took on a back problem of mine that was as some one put it not a “cookie cutter” problem. Dr K immediately upon seeing my situation stated that he knew what he was going to do. I have to admit that at first I was a little unsure of Dr K. But after doing my homework and a little research I realized I was in great hands. Dr. K is at the top of his field and most respected in his abilities. If he ever seems or comes across cocky, it is deservedly so, this Dr is at the top of his game. Look beyond this part of his personality and he will quickly warm to you. If you ever come across a person that has risen to the top of his field assume that along the way he has gathered some great people to support him underneath as Dr K has. His assistants who you will see often in both the office and then again at the hospital are all really nice, good caring people. Aaron who I think is Dr K’s #1 is a really nice caring guy, who will do whatever he can to help. Alex who I saw in the office was again a very caring and sweet woman who took her time in answering my questions and making sure I understood everything/anything that I had questions about. There were several other assistants that I won’t mention by name but were equally as caring and nice to deal with. Even the office girls in this office were exceptional, caring , always smiling. Without question for a situation such as my surgery the team that Dr K has assembled made my experience one that I would recommend to anyone needing this Dr.s care.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This past April 2014, I physically exerted myself too much, moving twice in a 7 month period for a job, and dislocated a disk in my spine. I was pretty much bedridden for a little over three months in so much pain; I cannot even put it into words. I could barely walk, sit, I had to use a step ladder to get into bed and the movement from the ladder to the bed often caused me to lay there crying out in immense pain for a good 20 to 30 minutes. Laughing, clearing my throat, coughing, sneezing, raising my voice, anything that put the slightest amount of pressure on my spine, sent paralyzing pain shooting down both of my legs, and several times caused me to lose all of the feeling in my legs and fall to the floorâ¦if I anticipated a cough or sneeze, I immediately reached out to grab the nearest thing I could reach to keep from falling and prepared myself mentally for the severe pain that would followâ¦this became a reflex and even remained so for a while after my surgery. During these three plus months, I only left the house to go see doctors in search of help. I met with doctors that seemed question the severity of my problem, that were only concerned with giving me shots in my spine, which did absolutely nothing to help, that did not even bother to order an X-ray, let alone a new MRI. And I met with office and records personnel who seemed to think there was no reason whatsoever to put any rush on getting my records to the places that they needed to be or to make appointments for me as soon as possible. Then, finally and thankfully, I was able to get myself to the Shands Bakersfield, UF Health Neuroscience Institute, Dr. Sassan Keshavarzi, and his team. Everyone there, from the wonderful ladies that initially answered the phone and listened to me cry while telling my story and got me into the office as quickly as they possibly could, to the awesome ladies at the check-in and check-out desk in the front office who knew me by first name in no time, to Aaron, Dr. Keshavarziâs assistant, who is very kind and attentive, to Dr. Keshavarzi himself, who is also very kind, attentive, and has a great sense of humor made me feel like I was in very good hands right from the start. Dr. Keshavarzi made room in his schedule for me and got me into surgery as quickly as possible. All of his surgical team came to meet me while I waited in pre-op, to say hi, explain what was going to happen, and to reassure me. Every single one of them, all of the nurses, assistants, Dr. Mellow the anesthesiologist and his team, and Dr. Keshavarzi again made me feel safe and in good hands! After surgery on a Thursday, I spent the next few days in the neurosurgical unit. And there too, everyone was very nice, helpful, caring, and took excellent care of me. I was up and walking the next day, all of the severe, paralyzing pain was gone; the only pain I had now was the normal pain of the surgery incision site. My nurses made sure I was as comfortable as possible, and Dr. Keshavarzi and his assistants came to my room to check on me and provide care throughout my stay. Dr. Keshavarzi, I cannot thank you and your team enough for giving me my life back again and for doing it so well and with such care! You are all simply amazing! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I highly recommend Dr. Keshavarzi and his team to anyone suffering with severe back problems. I am doing great now and would do it again in a minute versus suffering as I was! And if I ever need surgery on my spine again, I will be back to see you, Dr. Keshavarzi! :0)
